Pricing Questions

Do I Need a Card to Start?

Yes. You add a card to begin your free week, and nothing is charged today. It keeps the free week fair: each card gets one, and prepaid or virtual cards cannot start one.

What Happens After 7 Days?

Gusteau Starter starts by itself, billed monthly, and your card is charged, unless you cancel first. I email you 2 days before, and you can cancel anytime from your Dashboard. Want Pro or yearly instead? Pick it during your week; that ends the free week and billing starts that day.

What Counts as a Recipe?

Each new recipe Gusteau writes for you: from what you ask for, from Use It Up in the Kitchen, or from a planned meal when you tap Cook This. Opening or cooking a recipe you already have is free.

What If I Run Out on Starter?

Starter's allowance starts again each month on the day your plan began, even on a yearly plan, and unused amounts don't carry over. Run out sooner? Wait for the new month, or move to Pro from your Dashboard anytime; Stripe works out the difference. Very heavy use can pause a little early, the same fair use as Pro.

Is Pro Really Unlimited?

There are no set limits for normal home cooking. To keep Pro fair for everyone, use far beyond what a household cooks may pause until the next month starts. If that ever happens, I'll tell you when it comes back.

Is Yearly Cheaper?

Yes. Yearly takes 10% off twelve months of monthly, on both Starter and Pro. Starter's allowance still starts again every month, and you can switch between monthly and yearly from your Dashboard; Stripe works out the difference.

Can I Cancel Anytime?

Yes. Open your Dashboard, press Manage Billing, then Cancel Plan. It keeps working until the end of the time you've paid for, then stops renewing.

Can My Family Share One Account?

Each person has their own account. With Pro, add up to 8 people to your plan from Your Family on the Dashboard: the first one is free and each one after is $5.99 a month. They cook on your Pro and share your pantry, week plan, shopping list and a Family Recipes board. On any plan you can also share recipes by link or on a Recipe Board.
